Part 1: Strides
Exercise:
Strides: 3 x 100 m
Rest: Walk back to the start between reps
Instructions:
Gradually build effort from 60% to 90% across each repetition.
Part 2: Interval Sets
Workout:
Complete 2 sets of the following:
Every 4 minutes x 4 rounds:
600 m run
Rest:
6-8 minutes between sets
Effort Guidelines:
Sets 1-2: Run at your 5K pace
Sets 3-4: Run 5 seconds faster per 400 m
Part 3: Cool-Down
Exercise:
After your final interval:
10 minutes of walk-jog-run at a recovery pace
